I don't know what my deal is with pantry containers lately... but here is a frugal use for the small ones: toys!
My daughter likes to carry around things that she can easily hold, like a tube of my toothpaste, a cloth wipe, her hairbrush, etc. I've started saving small, empty spice containers for her. They are the perfect size for her to hold in her little hands. She can take them in and out of the toy basket, learn to open and close them, pretend to cook with me, etc.
Right now there are in 5 or 6 in her toy basket in the living room, but someday they can go in a play kitchen set or play shopping cart.
I know I could buy some spices in bulk and eliminate new containers, but I haven't gotten that far, yet. Reusing or recycling the containers will have to do for now.

That's great! I'll have to save mine for my nieces.
My son is similarly obsessed with spice containers but I've never thought of giving him empty ones. That's a brilliant idea! I just screw on the lids really tight and hope for the best but he's getting better at prying them off, only to leave me cleaning up piles of cinnamon and pepper. Thanks for joining us this week for Thrifty Green Thursday!
My daughter would love to play with empty spice bottles! I buy all my spices in bulk, so unfortunately for her, she will never have any. I am going to keep this tip in mind when I have any sort of empty food container . . . I think my daughter would love to add an empty tea box or something to her kitchen!

We've been doing the same thing and then this past summer got a little kitchen to put them in. Small fridge bottles work great too such as a chocolate milk container. They usually have a cute picture of a cow on them which Seth loves. If you ever splurge for those...
