Cheapest Lab Work Ever

Ok, I am NOT planning on having another baby within the next 9 months.

But for those that want to and are trying to sometime soon, guess what I saw the other day...

Pregnancy tests in the checkout line at the dollar store!

I couldn't believe it. Those things are usually kind of expensive, at least to me. Especially if you unfortunately have to go through a lot of them.

I checked the expiration dates and they were June 2010. They look just like the ones that my doctor's office uses. I picked up a couple, and if I don't end up using them someday then I'll give them to friends who will.

Pregnancy tests for a buck a piece? Has anyone else seen these? Works for me!

I'll have to check that out... I'm afraid that I just might be pregnant - and was just waiting a few weeks to see rather than spending $10 at the drug store!

Yes! I wish I had found them earlier when I was ttc. Next baby, I'll be prepared. :)

My last pregnancy (was literally my last) I used these with great results. I even tested two days early and still got a faint line. I would recommend these to anyone.

I had read that myself somewhere recently and just saw one last week. Couldn't believe it when they are 5-9 bucks each at the store.

All of the pregnancy tests are testing for the same hormone so they should all work the same. Keep in mind that some may be more sensitive than others and may give you a positive reading earlier. If you try one and get a negative and are still unsure and don't "start" I would try another kind or call my Doctor for a blood pregnancy test.

I'd heard about them before, too, and considered using 'em when we had a pregnancy scare last October. But then someone told me that she took one and it was positive... and then for fun her husband took one and it was positive.
I'm not sure how accurate they are...lol.

Great tip!

I belong to a fertility web community and after dealing with infertility for about 11 years, dollar store tests are a blessing! I go thru those tests like candy, and it has saved a ton.

One of my comrades on the fert. web checked into these and found they are just as sensitive, if not more so, than the ones we usually buy. It has to do with how sensitive they are to the HCG in your system.

I just wanted to put in my "thumbs up" on the whole thing!

I have used these several times and they have always accurately told me I wasnt pregnant, and once accurately told me I was!

It feels like every month I think I am pregnant. So I like to keep them around to reassure myself that I am not pregnant.

A friend of mine also looked it up and according to what she found on the web they are accurate, and can actually tell earlier than some more expensive ones.

I think the reason they are cheap is that you dont pee on them. You use a dropper to put the pee on the stick. So the technology isnt that fancy.

Sad, but true -- a local Dollar General sells their $1 tests (stored behind the counter) to my kid's pediatrician's office for use on their young patients.

These actually work well. They also carry ovulation predictors which I hear work, but I could never figure out my window.
