Shampoo, Soap, Etc.

What I like:
365 Everyday Value Personal Care Products
(This is my personal opinion, not a paid advertisement.)

A few years ago, when I was first having hormone imbalances and discovering I had PCOS, I started on a quest to eliminate as many hormone disruptors as reasonably possible from our daily living. One obvious area was in shampoos, body wash, lotion, and other personal care products. (Disclaimer: I still use my antiperspirant. I sweat a lot, and haven’t wanted to go that crunchy yet.) I discovered the Whole Foods store brand of personal care products, and we have been using the shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion ever since!

The 365 Everyday Value brand is reasonably priced. At $4.79 for 32 fl. oz. the bottles are less than some name-brands at Wal-mart. They are deliciously scented with essential oils, and the bottles are made from 50% post consumer recycled content. But the best part, as written on the side of the bottle:

Free of parabens, animal ingredients, artificial fragrance, and unnecessary chemicals. Made with biodegradable ingredients. Not tested on animals.

While these do not claim to be 100% organic, I think that these products are major bang for your buck if you are wanting to find paraben-free products on a budget. They work for me!

Visit the Skin Deep database if you have questions about the safety of what you are currently using.

Great tip- I would have assumed anything from Whole Foods would be way over priced. I will definitely have to check this out since I just paid $6 for a bottle of shampoo from Target with God knows what in it.

Thanks for the recommendation. That is indeed an excellent price! I have been exploring making my own shampoo, which is coming along nicely, but I may just give those a try at that price!

Oh my gosh, I would love to try that brand! And I love that the bottles are 50% post consumer. Sweet! Can you tell me *where* to buy that 365 brand from? I've not seen it in the store.

Since it it the Whole Foods Market store brand, I'm pretty sure it is only available at Whole Foods - that's the only place I've ever gotten it. Sorry if that wasn't clear! :)

This sounds like a great product to try - and the price is so reasonable. Now I'll just have to make the trip to Whole Foods :)
