I appreciated this summary by Katie titled 12 Food Additives to Avoid. Read it. It will reinforce why you already try to eat more naturally, or it may encourage you to make even more of an effort to do so. I thought we were doing well, but I want to go check some more food labels right now!

My advice? To keep your food budget under control while avoiding these icky substances, cook from scratch as much as possible.

Ack! This makes me want to go rummage through my cupboard right this moment! I knew about several of the food additives, but not all of them. It's especially scary now that parents are turning more to processed foods to accommodate busy schedules. Thanks for joining us this week for Thrifty Green Thursday!
