Menu Plan 4/26/10

First, two bits of randomness:
  • I love this time of year for eating supper on the patio!
  • It looks like we did much better with the grocery budget in April... just a little bit over.  I've been thinking about a particular idea from the book In Defense of Food that has really stuck with me.  I had to return the book to the library, so I no longer have it, but in summary, it is some thing along the lines of knowing what we know about how our food affects our health and our lives, our food budgets may not be the smartest place to try to economize.  Hmm.  Thoughts?
Breakfasts:
Soaked Oatmeal
Muffins
Bananas
Milk

Lunches:
PB&J Sandwiches
Carrot Sticks
Yogurt with Honey and Blueberries
Apples, Pears, Oranges

Dinners:
Monday - Leftovers
Tuesday - Salmon Cakes (new recipe), Baked Yams, Salad with Homemade Dressing
Wednesday - Leftovers
Thursday - Grilled Cheese, Salad
Friday - Grilled Chicken Wraps, Salad
Saturday - Chicken Stir Fry with Broccoli over Rice
Sunday - Leftovers

Dessert:
Homemade Chocolate Pudding! :)

Happy Sunday, happy Monday!

I always like to look at your list for ideas. Now we are going to have those yummy chicken wraps! Thanks for the reminder!

I love those things! I'm so glad you shared that recipe ahwile back. Sometimes to make it even easier, I just used shredded or chopped chicken (not necessarily grilled) and grill the final product in the skillet just like grilled cheese, since out grill is currently out of commission! They are even pretty good cold the next day for lunch.
